Mellott-- George W. Lively, 82, was found dead in his bed at 9:15 a.m. Sunday. He apparently suffered a heart attack and died during his sleep Saturday night. Mr. Lively’s sister, Mrs. Charles Gott, became alarmed Sunday morning when she tried to telephone him and received no answer. She sent a grandson, Louie Metseff, to Mr. Lively’s home and he found the doors locked. Metseff, with the aid of neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Montemore, entered the house and found Mr. Lively’s body. Born Nov. 7, 1876, near Mellott, he was the son of John and Delphine Lively. He was married Aug. 24, 1907, to Mary Harbaugh of Frankfort. He lived most of his married life in Momence, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Lively moved to Mellott after his retirement several years ago. Mr. Lively was a school teacher and a mail clerk for a number of years. He was a member of the New Antioch Christian Church. Only survivors are his sister, Mrs. Gott and several nieces and nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, John. His wife died April 20, 1959. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Loren Hetrick officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
